Video: What Makes Resurrection Ascension Special?

Take a tour of Resurrection Ascension Catholic Academy by watching this wonderful video that highlights the people and programs that make our school the “foundation for future success.”  Listen to students talk about the pride they feel in their school, their dedicated teachers, and the love of Christ that is the basis of it all.

Up, Up and Away!

Welcome to the Pre-K unit on transportation!  The children are learning about the various modes of transportation and how their community uses each one.  Students brought in pictures of themselves using the modes of transportation including trains, planes, even an ambulance!  The creative play area has been transformed into a mini airport where students can role play different occupations, such as pilot, air traffic control or baggage handler.  Visitors to the airport can use their passports to visit countries around the world.  The children will hear many stories about transportation, and learn new songs to sing.  Some of those songs are their own creations!  All aboard for lots of fun and learning in PK!

Advent Prayer Service

The fourth grade led us in prayer as we learned about the meaning of each week of Advent.  Students acted out readings from the Gospels, and the Children’s Choir led us in song.

Advent Tree Lighting

On Monday, December 4th our school community gathered to light the Christmas tree outside the church doors.  Over 200 participants sang carols and watched as Father Amato blessed our tree.  Then the countdown!  Our families then proceeded inside to have refreshments and complete an Advent craft.  A great time was had by all!

4th and 5th Grade STEM Projects

Our children are using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in the lab!  Our 4th Graders were challenged to create a boat that would hold the most candy corn without sinking.  The 5th graders were given 15 minutes to build the tallest free-standing structure they could using 100 toothpicks and 1 cup of mini marshmallows.  The children proved that they are great critical thinkers and problem solvers!

5th Grade Gardeners

Our 5th graders planted bulbs in front of the church on this beautiful fall afternoon!
