Altar Servers
Our Altar Servers are boys and girls in grades 4 through 8 who assist with the celebration of the liturgy in Resurrection Ascension Church. Trained by our pastor, these students serve at daily Mass, Sunday Mass, funerals and weddings.
Children's Choir
Students in grades 3 through 8 participate in our RA Children’s Choir led by our Music Director, Emanuel Bologna. Their beautiful singing adds to the celebration of the monthly Family Mass and seasonal school prayer services.
Prayer Services
Daily prayer is an integral part of the life of our school. We begin each day with a reading and recitation of the Our Father. Classes also pray before meals and at the end of the day.
Our parish celebrates a monthly Family Mass that is hosted by a particular grade. Our Children’s Choir sings and our children are lectors. Our students also participate in a variety of seasonal Masses and prayer services that enhance the faith life of our school.
In October we pray the Rosary together while older students act out the Mysteries of the Rosary.
In November we celebrate an All Saints’ Day Mass. Classes select a class saint, and one student will dress as that saint. We celebrate Thanksgiving by donating food and money to our St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and The Little Sisters of the Poor. We invite representatives of both groups to join us in prayer.
In December we celebrate the beginning of Advent at a prayer service that explains the meaning of the Advent wreath.
In March our eighth graders pray a Living Stations of the Cross, a dramatic and moving service.
In May our Communion class crowns the statue of Mary in the grotto in our schoolyard.
During the seasons of Advent and Lent all students are invited to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation.
