The cost of tuition for one Catholic child attending Resurrection Ascension Catholic Academy is $5,085 per year, which can be paid over 10 months. There are also the additional costs of a $250 activity fee, necessary supplies, uniforms, and daily lunch; the total can exceed over $6,250 per year per child. For many families this amounts to an additional rent payment each month which can be near to impossible for them to pay. The General Scholarship Fund allows us to give some of our families needed tuition assistance, so that they may give their children the gift of an exceptional Catholic education.
Danny Guez was a beloved member of the RA Class of 1996. This fund, created by his parents in his memory, is supported yearly by friends and family members who gather annually to celebrate his birthday and the wonderful life he led. This fund honors the kind, generous and joyful man Danny was. All donations to the Danny Guez Memorial Scholarship Fund go directly to scholarships for families in need.
Pat Oettinger, a longtime parishioner of Resurrection Ascension and the parent of RA graduates, was an integral part of our school, first as an Advisory Board member over 10 years ago and then in her position as the Treasurer on the Academy Board of Directors for the following three years. Pat was a tireless lifelong advocate for our school. She always generously shared her experience, wisdom, insight, and knowledge with the Board members. Pat knew so much about the history of this parish and school and enjoyed sharing it with us. Every member of the Board felt strongly about honoring Pat’s memory in a meaningful and lasting way. To honor this lifetime of service, the Board of Trustees created this scholarship fund in her memory. All donations to Patricia Oettinger Memorial Fund go directly to scholarships for families in need for many years to come.
Resurrection Ascension Catholic Academy prides itself on keeping up with the latest advancements in technology and integrating that technology into the daily lives and lessons of our students and faculty. Each student has access to their own device—whether it be a Chromebook or iPad. During weekly Computer classes students learn the latest platforms and about digital citizenship. Recently, we were donated the gift of 3D printers from a parent at St. John’s University. In the upcoming school year, donations to the Technology Fund will allow us to replace damaged Chromebooks for our students, enhance the technology curriculum, and upgrade our Smart Boards in the K-8 classrooms.
Over the past few years our students have had access to two very special programs. Our third graders received 15 weeks of violin lessons from Midori and Friends. This culminates in a recital for parents and friends at the end of the year. We also offer Dancing Classrooms’ ballroom dancing classes for students in grades 4 and 5. These students learn the history of each dance, as well as the steps. At the end of 20 weeks of lessons the student performance is one of the highlights of the year! Your donation to the Arts Fund will allow us to continue these two very special programs and expand our wonferdul arts programs
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education is at the forefront of the curriculum for schools in the 21st century. By combining these four subjects into meaningful and hands on lessons, we can prepare our students for careers in the future. We would like to bring weekly classes to our students in grades K-8 and revive our Robotics Team which competed in the First Lego League. Your donation to the Stem Fund can make this possible.
